The band EYOT has released another composition from the new album 557799, which will released on Friday, October 23, under the label of the American publishing house Ropeadope. The video was shoot at the archaeological site of “Lepenski Vir” (Serbia) as part of the “Concert Series – Jazz of the East (Koncertne serije – Džez Istoka)” which is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Information of Serbia. The French national service France Musique paid tribute to the band EYOT by promoting the music video and announced the new album in their article, where they singled out EYOT as one of the most interesting music bands in Europe in the past decade.
As a reminder:
The album name is 557799, after the composition number 7, which is about the rhythm pattern throughout it.
5/8 5/8, 7/8 7/8, 9/8 9/8 it goes.
Those 3 odd rhythms are the basics of the Balkans’ traditional music, but for us, there’s more to that than just the number- it’s the epitome of life and history which has always been turbulent in this part of the world. That’s our Heartbeat. Odd is an odd way full of life and emotion.
Series of concerts – Jazz of the East
After filming at the archaeological site of “Lepenski Vir” (Serbia), EYOT continues a series of concerts in cities in eastern Serbia. Due to known circumstances, in the conditions dictated by the health situation, the organizers are not able to present a list of all performances and cities, so they will do it individually for each concert. This concert series is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, and the first concert will be held in the city of Bor (Serbia) on Monday, October 12, in the big hall of the “Zvezda” cinema, starting at 7 p.m. The concert is organized by the Cultural Center of the City of Bor.
Horizons of accentuated sensitivity
The biography of the EYOT group belongs to exceptional stories for any time and for any part of the world. They have released four albums so far – all for foreign record labels – and performed in more than 20 countries around the world, which is an incredible achievement for any band, especially one that plays jazz. Greatly accepted by the audience and music critics wherever they go. Their concerts are exceptional experiences: always filled with a special energy that takes the listener far beyond the horizons of emphasized sensitivity.
